Welcome to the permitting portal for Florida’s water management districts. This portal is designed to direct you to the appropriate district’s Web site for obtaining information regarding the districts’ permitting programs, applying for permits, and submitting permit compliance information.

The state’s five water management districts issue several types of permits. The three most common concern how much water is used, the construction of wells, and how new development affects water resources.

Where do I begin?
This portal is a dynamic interface to the five districts, and there are a variety of ways to access information about each. An important step in determining the district of interest is to define the location of the activity you wish to undertake. You can use the interactive map on the portal’s home page for this task. As you move your mouse pointer over the area of interest, the appropriate water management district name is highlighted. You may click on the map to proceed to information about that district. Conversely, moving the mouse pointer over the district names list highlights the area of the corresponding district. You can click on a district’s name to access information about that district.

Each district site contains information about and links to permiting information, permitting requirements, fees, office locations and other general information such as rules, forms and Governing Board meeting schedules.

You may also select the ‘How do I?’ button on the portal’s main page to view a list of standard questions. Selecting the question of interest will result in an interactive map of the districts being displayed. Select the area or county of interest to proceed directly to the appropriate district’s link.
